Question: Is there more Kinetic Energy or Gravitational Potential Energy in the world?
Answer: The world contains much of both Kinetic Energy and Gravitational Potential Energy, but I think there is of one than the other. First off let me explain what exactly Kinetic Energy and Gravitational Potential Energy are. Kinetic Energy is energy an object has due to its motion or the energy of motion. For example a girl running across a field, a car going down a highway, or someone riding their bike would all be using KE. While Gravitational Potential Energy is energy stored in an object due to its position or the energy that builds up in an object because of its position. A skateboarder on top of a ramp, a roller coaster cart before it goes down its slope, or a kid sitting at the top of a slide are all examples of GPE.I think that there is more GPE in the world because technically the entire planet has masses of GPE because of its large mass, and the world could fall in the depth of space at anytime. All theories of what the earth has more of, between GPE and KE, are reasonable but I think of mine to be the most logical.
